PRIVACY POLICY
1. WHAT WE COLLECT
Account info: email, name, hashed password, profile bio, avatar.
Content: beats, covers, profile images, chat messages, stream metadata you upload.
Payment info: processed by Square — we store only transaction IDs, amounts, and session IDs, never card numbers.
Usage data: page visits, stream viewers, profile views, beat plays, favorites, follows, subscriptions.
2. HOW WE USE IT
To (a) operate the Platform, (b) process payments and subscriptions, (c) surface relevant beats and producers, (d) protect against fraud and abuse, (e) improve features, and (f) respond to support requests.
3. COOKIES & SESSION
We use a Bearer token in `localStorage` to keep you signed in. No third-party advertising cookies are used at this time.
4. WHO WE SHARE WITH
We share data only with subprocessors needed to run the Platform: Square (payments), LiveKit (live streaming), and our hosting + storage providers. We never sell personal information.
5. PUBLIC DATA
Your username, profile bio, avatar, uploaded beats, chat messages, and subscriber/follower counts are publicly visible. Do not post sensitive info.
6. YOUR CHOICES
You can edit your profile, unsubscribe, unfollow, or request account deletion at any time by contacting legal@beat-lab.net. EU/UK users have additional rights under GDPR (access, rectification, erasure, portability).
7. SECURITY
Passwords are hashed with bcrypt. TLS encrypts data in transit. Access is restricted to authorized personnel. No system is perfectly secure — you use the Platform at your own risk.
8. DATA RETENTION
We retain account data while your account is active. Transaction records are retained up to 7 years for tax/compliance purposes. Chat messages and stream metadata may be retained for up to 12 months.
9. CHILDREN
The Platform is not directed to children under 13. If we learn we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it.
10. CHANGES
We may update this policy. Material changes will be announced in-app. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
